Carroll ISD Chooses eTrak for Safety and Security Devices

Personnel Now Better Equipped To Handle An Emergency

DALLAS, TX (August 27, 2013) – eTrak, the developer of the smallest reliable GPS on the market, announced they will be providing security safety devices to Carroll ISD in Southlake, Texas to help teachers and employees feel safer in their work environment and to provide a quicker response if an emergency situation should occur.

“We’re excited in Carroll ISD to be partnering with eTrak to improve communications and our emergency response time in the event of a school crisis,” said Julie Thannum, Assistant Superintendent for Board and Community Relations. “We believe the device is small enough to be worn comfortably and without much notice, while giving our employees a stronger sense of confidence that if they were to find themselves in a difficult or troublesome situation, they could reach out instantly for help.”

School violence has reached a tragic status in the United States. In 2012, 16 school shootings took place, killing and injuring numerous teachers and students. While a school shooting is the worst-case scenario, daily occurrences such as bullying or physical altercations still take place. A reported 7% of teachers say they have been threated while at school. Without a way to protect themselves or alert appropriate authorities, many of these teachers feel uncomfortable and defenseless in these situations.

eTrak gives teachers and school administrators peace of mind knowing they are always connected. The small device allows a teacher to quickly and discretely notify authorities in the event of an emergency by simply pressing the Alert Button. Once pressed, the device sends a discrete message to predetermined authorities alerting them that help is needed and where the occurrence is. The device is also capable of alerting other teachers and staff, allowing them to lock down their territory or assist the situation. The eTrak device cuts down emergency response time with its alert button, and helps maintain order in times of disarray with its silent alert notifications.

“While some schools have an emergency system in place that takes 5 minutes or longer, the eTrak Emergency Alert system sends a notification within seconds of the first sign of danger. This time savings will provide a much faster response time from first responders, and thereby potentially minimizing injuries to school employees and children. “ CEO John Harris

eTrak, Developers of Hybrid Tracking Techology, Partners With MedicAlert Foundation to Provide 24/7 Protection

Award-Winning Location Tracking Devices Now Tied to Global Emergency Response Network

DALLAS, TX (July 30th, 2013) — eTrak, the developer behind the smallest and most reliable GPS enabled device on the market, announced today a partnership with MedicAlert Foundation, the leading emergency identification and medical information network, that brings about a cutting-edge safety device for consumers.  The partnership combines eTrak’s GPS+Hybrid Technology with MedicAlert’s medical identification and information network, as well as their 24/7 Emergency Response Services, giving users the power to stay connected to their loved ones at all times.

“Our partnership with MedicAlert is very significant in the growth of eTrak,” said John Harris, CEO of eTrak. “The service that MedicAlert provides gives our users the constant support of an entire emergency network, including 24/7 emergency response and access to emergency medical information records. It is invaluable for the peace of mind it gives eTrak users.”

Using eTrak’s proprietary GPS+ Hybrid Technology, users can follow the movements of loved ones wearing the device – which may be children, adults, aging parents or individuals with special needs – correspondingly, device wearers can reach out to their caregivers by pushing the device’s alert button in the event of an emergency. The small device sends, pinpoint location tracking alerts directly to the users’ smartphone or computer. eTrak’s partnership with MedicAlert also allows protection to be provided even when the user is not near their phone or computer; if emails, messages and phone calls go unnoticed, MedicAlert will contact local authorities to check on the tracked person at any hour of the day or night.

“For us, it’s a perfect partnership,” said Andrew Wigglesworth, CEO of MedicAlert Foundation “MedicAlert GPS + Essential adds an exciting new element to our service line, combining the most technologically advanced GPS on the market today with the most dependable safety network to locate loved ones experiencing an emergency or who may have become lost.”

The partnership also allows police and first responders to have access to electronic health records for the tracked person, alerting them to conditions that may be relevant to their safety.

eTrak’s patented technology combines Wi-Fi mapping, cell tower triangulation and GPS for the most accurate location positioning. It enables a caregiver to draw a boundary circle around multiple addresses, creating a protective perimeter for their loved one. If the 1” x 2” device travels beyond the safety circle, it will automatically send emails and text messages to preprogrammed cellphones and computers alerting them of the device location. eTrak is powered by the Verizon Wireless network
