Missing Alzheimer’s Man Found In Ohio River

A 73-year-old Ohio man was found dead in the Ohio River, after slipping on the bank and drowning shortly after.

Wilbur “Randall” Maynard’s home health care nurse discovered him missing at 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Maynard had Alzheimer’s and was closely monitored by his family and nurse in hopes of preventing an accident such as what happened.

Maynard’s son believes he was on his way to go visit his sister when it started raining and he was forced to take shelter. While taking cover, Maynard slipped on the Ohio River bank, losing a shoe and falling into the river.

Stories like this one are heartbreaking to hear. We know eTrak can make a positive difference in many families’ lives and prevent accidents like Maynard’s. Please help us spread the eTrak word so we can bring peace of mind to one family at a time.

If you are a caregiver of a family member or friend with Alzheimer’s and would like an eTrak device, you can now pre-order yours HERE! Devices will be ready for shipment in September.

Autistic Man Found Alive After Three Weeks Missing

William Martin LaFever, a 28-year-old man with Autism, was found alive after wandering the remote Escalante Desert of southern Utah for three weeks.

The young man is a fan of camping and said he “fell in love” with the dangerous yet picturesque Utah terrain. LaFever told his dad he was going to make the hike from Boulder, Utah, to Page, Arizona, a distance of around 90 miles, even after his dad warned him against the trip. While in the wilderness, LaFever had been surviving on frogs, roots, and water from the Escalante River.

Deputy Ray Gardner, the man who organized the search efforts for LaFever, had been trained in searching for people with Autism and knew they are naturally drawn to water. Knowing this, Gardner focused the helicopter search on the Escalante River, which is where LaFever was later found.

We are so thankful that Mr. LaFever was found alive and unharmed; we hate to think how this story could have ended. Stories like this remind us why eTrak was created; hopefully our device can help others, like LaFever, if they are ever faced with a similar situation.

The Next Generation of Personal Location Tracking Is Here [PHOTOS]

Few communities have made stronger strides forward than the mobile health community. eTrak, now, has positioned itself at the fron of that pack. The eTrak device was initially developed with the families of those with Autism and Alzheimer’s in mind. eTrak’s ability to geolocate its users up to 10 feet and possess a battery that lasts longer on a single charge makes it the smartest personal GPS location tracking device on the market.

Outside of medical care, the eTrak device has a number of other wonderful and functional uses. Be it a young child, a family pet, or an automobile, the eTrak technology can be employed so that you “Always Know” where your loved ones and prized possessions are throughout the day.

eTrak works from any smart phone, so you can be assured of complete accessibility where ever you might be. The GPS+ “Hybrid Tracking Technology” ensures your device will work from most any where by leveraging Cell-ID, WiFi, and GPS technologies.

The Birth of eTrak: A High-Tech Personal GPS Tracking Solution

John Harris, a family man with a knack for inventing, witnessed the terrifying moment when his autistic niece wandered from the group and couldn’t be found for a short period of time. After seeing her parents worry and experiencing the panic himself, Harris knew he had to find a solution.

“It came to a point where she could unlock doors and windows and get out before anyone knew she was gone,” Harris said. “At that point we knew we had to do something, and started looking for something we could attach to her so we would know where she was if she got out.”

In November 2010, Harris began the journey of developing a location tracking product that would soon prove to be far superior to anything of the likes on the market. eTrak was born.

Using GPS, Cell ID, and Wi-Fi, eTrak has the ability to track a person, pet, or automobile indoors and outdoors. The patented technology also delivers latitude and longitude coordinates, potentially telling you what floor of a building the person is on. The device weighs less than an ounce and is approximately the size of a domino, boasts a seven-to-ten day battery life and a water resistant shell, positioning eTrak to take the market by storm. Now, I’m sure you’re thinking “wow that’s incredible” and you’re right, it absolutely is, but it gets even better.

eTrak is equipped with a panic button in case of an emergency. When pressed, the button sends its location by text and email with turn-by-turn directions to the predetermined contacts of your choice. Our product also allows you to set up safety circles; when the device leaves or enters these safety circles, the same predetermined contacts will be notified by either text message or email.

After spending some time with the engineers, it was soon discovered that eTrak could be used for a lot more than just tracking people. We all have a need to protect our most prized possessions and eTrak’s proprietary technology can assist better than any other product on the market. Whether it is your car, your pet, your purse, or your golf clubs, eTrak will make sure you Always Know where these things are.
